Taylor Jordan is a movement artist, teacher, choreographer and model based in New York City. She is a native from Montgomery, Alabama where she studied dance at the Alabama Dance Theatre.
She has studied with companies including Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Nederlands Dans Theater, Boston Ballet, Houston Ballet, Charlotte Ballet, Portland Festival Ballet and Alabama Ballet.
After graduating high school, Taylor became a second company member with the Charlotte Ballet, under the instruction of Patricia McBride and Mark Diamond. As a second company member she traveled and performed for cultural outreach programs.
Soon after, Taylor joined the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program under the direction of Karah Abiog. During that time, she worker with Shannon Gillen, Gioconda Barbuto, Alex Ketley, Maurya Kerr, Erik Wagner, Carmen Rozestraten, Angelo Dello Iacono and Gregory Dawson.
During her second year at LINES, Taylor was chosen to teach and assist at the Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco and Presidio Middle School. During that time she studied and learned pedagogy. After graduating from the LINES Training Program in May of 2018, she joined dawsondancesf under the direction of Gregory Dawson. She was featured in several of Dawson's works including Steel Beam, MANGAKU and Floating in Midair.
She has also worked professionally with Reyes Dance, Smashworks Dance, Nefelaba Dance Theatre and has had the opportunity to perform globally in Croatia and Dominican Republic with Gaspard and Dancers.
Taylor is passionate about sharing this beautiful art form with others and has taught students of all ages and skill levels. she offers a safe space to explore self-expression, creativity, and communication.
Taylor is currently a dance teacher and choreographer for the Alabama Dance Theatre and Dance Dimensions of New Jersey and a company member of Nefelaba Dance Theater and Smashworks Dance.
